Box Score Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's basketball team made their regular season debut on their home court on Saturday afternoon when they took on SUNY Delhi. Despite a back and forth first half that saw the score tied at 38 going into the half, the Broncos turned it on over the final 20 minutes of play, resulting in a 80 to 61 loss.
The first half was a very strong performance from the Dolphins as they shot 38% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc. On top of their scoring, the Dolphins defense was flying around the court with a ton of energy. It seems CMSV hit a wall at halftime as the Broncos came out in the second half and were in complete control from the very first possession. CMSV did, however, have a few bright spots on Saturday afternoon. The seniors
Raiquis Harris and
Mamadou Mariko had nice outings for the Dolphins, as Harris had a team high 16 points and added four rebounds while Mariko had multiple great defense plays as well as scoring eight points and adding seven rebounds.
CMSV now sits at an overall record of 0-1. The
James Mooney-led Dolphins will take the court again this coming Monday as they head to Pennsylvania to take on another tough non-conference opponent in Moravian.Â
