Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Dolphins Downed By Yeshiva In Conference Opener

Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's basketball team opened up Skyline Conference play on Saturday afternoon when Yeshiva University took a short road trip to Riverdale. After a hard fought, back and forth play early on, the Maccabees prowess shined through as CMSV ultimately fell by the score of 102 to 73. The Dolphins are now 0-4 on the year.

Over the first 10 minutes in the first half, the Dolphins and Maccabees battled back and forth in impressive fashion, with the score knotted up at seven apiece three minutes into the game. The Dolphins took their first lead of the game with 16 minutes left in the half when Raiquis Harris found sophomore Kelvin Turner-Harris in the corner, who knocked down a three ball. From there, the Maccabees turned on the jets, scoring 10 straight points to take the lead. Despite playing tough defense, it was Yeshiva's size that played a big part in taking a double digit leave as the clock ticked down. As a whole, the Dolphins shot 30% each, both from the floor and beyond the arc. Harris and his play making ability led his team both in points (nine) and assists (four) while Turner-Harris had eight points of his own.

The second half started with the Dolphins coming out strong, including a 13-2 run led by big shots from Harris, Vinny Tavella and Makai Johnson. Unfortunately for the home team, the Maccabees came out and showed their offensive prowess the rest of the way, resulting in the loss. It was once again Harris who paced all Dolphins with 31 points and added six assists and three boards. Tavella had the most efficient evening of the young season, going 5-7 from the floor, while Mamadou Mariko had a team-high nine rebounds. Turner-Harris added 10 points of his own.

The Dolphins will have a bit of a break before returning to action. They'll head out to the West Coast Thanksgiving Day for a two game stretch.
