Dolphins Dominate Maccabees on Senior Day

Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team played on their home field for the final time in the 2019 season, playing host to conference rival Yeshiva University. In a pregame ceremony, coach Katie Gebhard and the team honored Paulina Mandujano, Jenna McDonnell and Georgina Perdomo for their efforts over the years for the Dolphins. After the ceremony concluded, the team fired on cylinders and dominated the Maccabees, winning by the score of 10-0. CMSV's final record sits at 7-7-2, including a 4-5-1 mark against Skyline competition.

On the day they were honored, the three seniors set the tone early for the Dolphins. In just the eighth minute of action, Perdomo scored her second goal of the season to give her team the early 1-0 lead. McDonnell, Hannah Eschmann and Christine Laskowski each scored by the 24th minute, resulting in a four goal lead. McDonnell and Grace Barry both picked up assists during that scoring affair. Mandujano finished out the half with a goal of her own, leading to a 5-0 lead going into halftime.

From there, the offensive barrage continued, with Eschmann, Kacey Brown, Lilli Marin and Lauren Vetoulis each scoring, while McDonnell produced her second assistant in the afternoon affair. The Dolphins defense stifled the Maccabees all afternoon long, with Kora-Lynn McCullough never seeing a shot on goal while Shannon Matthews turned away the lone shot she faced.

While the team is on the outside of the playoffs looking in this season, there is a lot to look forward to when it comes to the future of the Dolphins. With a strong core returning for 2020, the team will once again push to make the Skyline Conference postseason.
