Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. - When the College of Mount Saint Vincent took the court on Wednesday evening, they were out for revenge; after all, the visiting team - the United States Merchant Marine Academy - defeated the Dolphins in a triple overtime game during their last outing. Fortunately, the home team succeeded in their game plan, as they defeated the Marines by the score of 75-58. CMSV is now an impressive 15-7 on the year, with their 13-4 conference record best amongst Skyline competition.
The Dolphins were led by their impressive front court duo of
Ammad Alkhulaidi and
Andrew Curiel. The tandem has been catalysts behind CMSV's resurgence this season and this game was no different. Alkhulaidi shot eight for 15 from the floor, good for 17 points. His 12 rebounds secured the senior's ninth double-double of the season. But he wasn't alone, as Curiel, too, secured a double-double against the Marines with 16 points and 13 boards of his own. Junior
Jason Barrera and freshman
Makai Johnson combined for 18 points, with Barrera also pulling down seven rebounds. Freshman
Vinny Tavella came off the bench and contributed seven points as well.
The Dolphins will return to the Sharp Center court on Saturday, when the senior class will be honored before tip-off at noon against Old Westbury.
