Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. - With the senior class honored in a pregame ceremony, there was excitement in the Sharp Center before tipoff. Unfortunately, the College of Mount Saint Vincent wasn't able to translate that into success, as they dropped their fifth conference game to Old Westbury by the score of 59-53. The Dolphins now sit at 15-8, including 13-5 against Skyline competition.
With standout performer
Ammad Alkhulaidi sidelined with a head injury early on in the contest, CMSV had trouble getting points on the board. Senior
Andrew Curiel did his best, as he connected on seven of his 13 shots, good for 14 points and seven rebounds. Junior
Jason Barrera scored double figures off the bench, as he had 11 points of his own. But the aforementioned duo were the only ones to reach double-digit point totals, which is a key reason behind the team's struggles on Saturday afternoon. As a whole, the Dolphins shot just 33% from the field.
With the playoffs coming fast, CMSV will look to get back to their winning ways when they travel to Purchase College on February 13.
