Dolphins Fall Short In Second NCAA Regional Appearance

How It Happened
The Dolphins came out and played well early. It was 10-8 but then the experience of Babson showed. The Beavers quickly went on a 6-0 run and put the first set out of reach. The Dolphins went on to drop the first set 25-14. The lone bright spot was Madison Gale, who had two kills and two assists.

The second set saw much of the same form Babson, as they played flawless volleyball and made no mistakes. Babson jumped out to a quick a 13-5 lead. The Dolphins did their best to battle back and keep things close. They cut the lead to 15-10 and then began trading points with the Beavers. Babson then opened it back up to an eight-point lead at 21-13. But the Dolphins never gave in, as CMSV closed the gap to 24-20, but it was too little too late as they dropped the set 25-20.

In the third set, CMSV battled but could not seem to figure out the stellar defense of the Beavers. The Dolphins went down 12-6 early but that did not affect their energy. The Dolphins rattled off four straight and cut the lead to two and eventually got the score to 13-12. The teams traded points and eventually tied at 15-15 but Babson turned it on and went a 5-0 run. The Dolphins again tried to answer but fell short 25-20. Itg was an unfortunate end to what was an incredible run for the Dolphins. CMSV was led by two freshmen, Samantha Schroeder with seven kills and Alexandra Madden who had five. Junior Tara Maloney also added five kills for the Dolphins. All are returning next year for CMSV, which makes the future look extremely bright.

What's Next?
The Dolphins will now head into the offseason with their heads held high. CMSV will return multiple key players and have the chance to turn the school into a dynasty in the upcoming years. Key returners include junior Tara Maloney, sophomore Alexandra Rio and freshmen Alexandra Madden, Madison Gale, Rianna Rivera and Samantha Schroeder.
