How It Happened
Set 1
From the start of the first set until the 25
th point, it was all Dolphins. Winning the set by a commanding 25-7 score, CMSV was led by junior standout
Tara Maloney, who recorded six kills in the opening set. Aiding in her efforts was senior
Patsy Sewell, who added four assists and a kill to her resume during the first set.
Set 2
The Cardinals put up a strong fight in the second set, as they kept it within distance over the first half of play. But after the Dolphins took a 13-6 lead, the team never looked back, as they rallied to score 12 of the last 19 total points of the set. CMSV was led by the freshmen duo of
Alexandra Madden and
Lindsay DeBoer, as the pair combined for 10 of the Dolphins' 25 points.
Set 3
The final set of the evening was also the closest in terms of competition, as both sides traded points for the majority of the set. The Dolphins, however, showed their prowess and finished the contest strong. The aforementioned trio of Maloney, Madden and DeBoer continued their strong effort on the offensive end, as they finished with 16, 10 and seven kills, respectively. Sewell had a helping hand in their attack, as she recorded 27 assists, while
Chrissy Sewell was good for a team-high 13 digs.
What's Next?

Firmly set in the fifth seed, the team will find out their first round road matchup in the coming days. But before the playoffs begin, the Dolphins will have one more tune-up against University of Southern Maine on Saturday.
