Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. - Coming into Wednesday night's home matchup, the College of Mount Saint Vincent was struggling with a four game losing streak. But returning to the Sharp Center seemed to remedy the team's issues, as the Dolphins had their way with the St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn Bears, defeating them by the score of 70-35. CMSV improved their record to 6-8 on the season, with a Skyline Conference record of 4-6.
From the first whistle to the last, it was all Mount Saint Vincent. Senior
Kristen Merrell had an impressive stat line, as she posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while adding seven assists to her resume.
Kelly Nola paced all scorers with 18 points while
Kelly Oliver finished not to far behind her with 15 of her own. Freshman
Aria Rheams impressed on the glass with 14 boards while
Dez Brown came off the bench and provided 10 points and six rebounds of her own. The Dolphins' defense was equally as impressive, as they forced the Bears to shoot just 19% from the floor while causing 13 turnovers.
CMSV will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Sarah Lawrence College with an afternoon tip-off.
