Men's Basketball Surges To Sixth Straight Victory

Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's basketball team entered Tuesday with five straight wins, with Sarah Lawrence College standing in between yet another victory. While the Gryphons came out strong, it was the Dolphins who finished the game victorious by the score of 65-44. CMSV now sits at an impressive 10-5 record while going 8-2 against Skyline Conference opponents.

As a whole, the Dolphins struggled over the first 20 minutes of game action. The team shot a combined 27% from the floor, resulting in a 10-point deficit at halftime.

But once the second half began, it was all CMSV. The team reversed course, as they converted on 53% of their shots while limiting Sarah Lawrence to making just four of 22 attempts. The towering senior duo of Ammad Alkhulaidi (16 points, 12 rebounds) and Andrew Curiel (11 points, 14 rebounds) had strong nights both in the points column and on the boards, with both finishing with double doubles. Jason Barrera came off the bench and score 15 of his own, including a highlight dunk in the second half.

Despite their winning ways, Head Coach James Mooney and the Dolphins will have their biggest test to date when they take on Farmingdale (10-4, 8-2) on Thursday at the Sharp Center.
