Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's basketball team's road stretch hasn't been too kind, as the Dolphins lost their fourth of five games away from the Peter Jay Sharp Center - this time to Conference opponents in Farmingdale State College - by the score of 65-48. Their three straight losses has lowered the team's record to 5-7 on the year (3-5 against Skyline competition).
From the start, it looked like it was going to be a close game. The Dolphins trailed the Rams by just one point going into halftime, with
Kristen Merrell and
Kelly Oliver leading the way with 13 points combined. CMSV's defense also played an integral part in the strong first half of play, as they forced Farmingdale to successfully connect on just 25% of their shot attempts.
The second half, however, was a different story. The Dolphins scored just 26 points over the final two quarters of play, with no player reaching double figures in the scoring column. Oliver paced CMSV with 11 total points while Merrell finished her evening with 10 points and 10 rebounds, her first double-double of the 2017-18 season.
The Dolphins have one more road matchup on Saturday against Old Westbury before the return to campus on January 24 for a game against St. Joseph's College - Brooklyn.
