RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Volleyball team opened up their 2017 season on Wednesday night, hosting New York University in a non-conference match. After dropping the 1st set, the visiting Violets came back to win the final 3 sets, handing the Dolphins their first loss of 2017.

Tara Maloney led the Dolphins with 11 kills, 15 digs, and three assists, while Maria Leineweber added 10 kills and 10 digs. Nicole Henderson chipped in a little bit everywhere, leading the team with four aces and 29 assists.

The Mount took the first set 25-22, thanks to a great start to the set, thanks to two aces in the first four points by Henderson. Maloney smacked a kill to put her side ahead 11-3. Henderson closed out the set with a kill.

The Dolphins hitting fell off in the last three sets, while NYU stepped their game up. NYU had their most efficient set in the 3rd, hitting .400.
