BROOKLYN, NY - The CMSV Men's Soccer team returned to action for the second time in as many nights, on Monday, taking on York College in a non-conference matchup. Senior
Andrew Gomez scored twice to lead the Mount to a 4-1 win, improving to 2-2 on the season.
The Dolphins outshot the Cardinals 20-7 for the game, with only one York shot testing CMSV starting keeper
Padelis Astrinidis.
Julius Tumukunde broke through first for the Mount in the 10' taking a pass from
Khari Greene and firing it low past the York keeper to make it 1-0.
The Cardinals equalized in the 38' when Ivan Brito converted a free kick.
Gomez netted the game-winner in the 66' converting a penalty kick after York fouled the Dolphins in the box. The Dolphins next goal came off the foot of
Guy Horcasitas just over one minute later to make it 3-1. Gomez finished off the Cardinals in the 69' with his third goal in the past two games, converting a free kick.
