KINGS POINT, NY - The CMSV Women's Lacrosse team returned to action on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Long Island to take on Skyline Conference foe, US Merchant Marine Academy, in the 2017 season finale for the Mount. The Mariners had seven players score, en route to a 16-4 win over the Dolphins.
Four Dolphins scored in defeat, all freshman, led by
Georgiana Trizano,
Meaghan Cleary,
Paulina Mandujano and
Shannon Dalton.
Trizano started things off with the opening goal of the game, as
Alicia Forgione won the opening draw. The Dolphins passed it around, setting the stage for Trizano to score her 14th goal of the season.
Cleary would score at the 15:16 mark to tie the score at 2-2, but the Mariners would end the half scoring the final five goals to take a 7-2 lead after 30 minutes of play.
The home side would add two more goals in the opening five minutes of the second half, before Mandujano would net her 15th goal of the season. Dalton put in her 17th of the season late in the second half, to make the score 14-4.
Mandujano led her side with six ground ball pickups, while Forgione, added five scoop ups.
