LEICESTER, MA - The CMSV Women's Lacrosse team open up the 2017 season on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to Massachusetts to take on non-conference foe Becker College. Despite two goals apiece from
Alicia Forgione and
Georgiana Trizano, the Mount lost 9-5, falling to 0-1 on the season.
Becker scored the first four goals of the game but the Dolphins responded with back-to-back goals by Forgione and Trizano, to cut the lead in half. Neither team would score over the final 4:49 of play in the first half as the Mount trailed 4-2 after one.
The home side scored the first two goals once play resumed in the second half, but Forgione would net her second of the game at the 14:31 mark to cut the lead to three. Less than a minute after that, Becker answered to retake a four goal lead.
The teams would alternate goals over the final 6:02 of action, with Trizano netting her second of the day at 6:02 and
Shannon Dalton scoring her first of the season with 4:10 left on the clock.
