Maritime Comes Back To Down Dolphins 9-8

Shannon Dalton nets 2nd straight hat trick

THROGGS NECK, NY - The CMSV Women's Lacrosse team returned to action on Tuesday night, traveling to SUNY Maritime to take on Skyline Conference foe Maritime Privateers. The Dolphins took an early 6-1 lead, but Maritime came back to win 9-8, dropping the Mount's record to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Shannon Dalton led the Dolphins, netting her second consecutive hat trick, and her 8th goal in the last three games. The freshman also led the team with 10 shot attempts. Paulina Mandujano scored twice, while Alicia Forgione, Georgiana Trizano and Taylor Latorre each scored for the Dolphins. T. Latorre's goal was the first of her career.

For three-quarters of the first half, the Dolphins dominated play on a rainy field. After allowing the first goal, a little over five minutes into action, the Mount responded by scoring the next six goals, capped off by Mandujano's second of the half, which came as CMSV was in a man-up situation.

Maritime scored the final three goals of the 1st half to get within 6-4 at the half, then came out to score the first three goals to take a 7-6 lead. The Mount had a goal disallowed early in the first half, when it was ruled by the officials that the stick that scored a goal had to deep of a pocket.

Dalton scored back-to-back goals 18:08 and 12:48 to give her side an 8-7 lead but Miller Condrack scored the game-winner at the 8:06 mark.
