FORT PIERCE FL, - The CMSV Baseball team opened up play at the Florida Coast Spring Training event on Tuesday afternoon, taking on Westminster College in the first game of a three game, two day, series. The Dolphins scored 10 runs for the second game in a row to earn a 10-4 victory, pushing the Mount to 2-0 to start 2017.
Robert Negron started and pitched 7 innings for the Dolphins, as the senior gave up three runs on five hits, while striking out five batters.
Jeremy Glazer pitched the 8th and
Tyler Reyes pitched the 9th surrendering one run and preserved the victory for Negron.
Joshua Pacheco provided the offense for CMSV, as the senior went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored.
Michael Kochen,
Justin Vavaro and
Luis Castillo all collected two or more hits and scored a run,
Kyle Tamburi earned three walks in his five plate appearances.
The Dolphins return to action Wednesday afternoon, as they will wrap up the series with Westminster by playing a double-header.
