Hickman Scores 30 In Dolphins Loss To Farmingdale

Senior guard scores career-high


FARMINGDALE, NY - The CMSV Men's Basketball team returned to action on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Long Island to take on Farmingdale State in a Skyline Conference matchup. The Dolphins were unable to extend their winning streak to three games, as they dropped an 87-68 decision to the Rams, falling to 6-14 overall and 4-7 in Skyline play.

The Dolphins were led by Myron Hickman, the lone Mount player to score in double figures. The senior guard poured in a career-high 30 points in 31 minutes of action. The Rams had five players in double figures, led by Matthew Graham's 19 points.

Things did not start well for CMSV, as they were held scoreless for nearly five minutes to start the game, as Farmingdale State jumped out to a 10-0 lead. 

The Dolphins would draw as close as seven points after a 3-pointer by Hickman made the score 14-7. Entering halftime the Dolphins were down 11 points, 37-26, with Hickman having half of the teams points. 

Both offense's got going in the second half as the two teams combined for 92 points. The Dolphins found their stroke from 3-point land as they connected on 7-of-16. 

After falling behind by as much as 20 points early in the second half, the Dolphins continued to press on, eventually whittling the lead down to eight after one of HIckman's three second half 3-pointer went in to make the score 61-53 with 7:24 to go.

The Rams advantage came at the free throw line, as the home side had a 33-12 advantage from the line in the second half and connected on 24.
