Dolphins Earn Split vs. Emerson and Emmanuel

CMSV traveled to Boston for 2 matches on Saturday



BOSTON, MA - The CMSV Men's Volleyball team returned to action on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Boston to take on non-conference foe's Emmanuel College and Emerson College, on the campus of Emmaunel. The Dolphins earned a split, falling in their first match vs. Emmaunel 3-1 but then rallied to down Emerson in five sets, pushing the teams record to 5-8.

Skyline Conference Player of the Week, Tyler Cucullu one a machine, totaling 55 kills in the nine total sets, while also hitting a robust .393% and serving up seven aces in the two matches.  Setter Logan Dickover went over 40 assists in each of the two matches, capping off his performance with 54 in the Dolphins five set win over Emerson. 

In the five set thriller vs. Emerson, the Mount found themselves down 2-1 after three sets but rallied in the fourth set, dominating play to win 25-17, setting up a winner take all in the fifth set. 

In the 5th, the Dolphins won three of their first five points via kill. From then on, the set went back and forth with neither team taking a lead of larger than two points. After a block by Owen Smith and Dickover gave CMSV a 14-13, the Lions called timeout and rattled off two straight points to take their first match point of the game. However, the Dolphins would prevail, wrapping up a victory thanks to back-to-back kills by Cucullu to give his team a victory.
