Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. - Despite being outplayed in the first half, the College of Mount Saint Vincent outscored Mount Saint Mary College by 23 points in the final 20 minutes, en route to a 77-62 Skyline Conference victory. The Dolphins now sit 4-4 on the year, including 3-2 in conference play, while the Knights drop to 3-4 (3-2).
Throughout the first half of play, CMSV had a tough time establishing their offense against a stingy Mount Saint Mary defense. The Knights also had two double digit scorers in the first 20 minutes, as Tyler McDine and Gerard Norcera had 11 points apiece. As a whole, the opposite shot 48% from the floor over that span.
But if the first half was all Knights, the second was all Dolphins.The home team used the three-ball to their advantage, as they combined to shoot 45% from beyond the arc with both Makai Johnson (13 points) and Jose Maestre connecting on important possessions. Senior
Andrew Curiel had a dominant night as well, finishing the night with 16 points and 11 boards. Matthew Sowah and Raiquis Harris also finished in double figures.
Due to the Holiday season, the Dolphins will return to the court on December 28 when they take part in the Coaches vs. Cancer Holiday Classic Tournament hosted by Lehman College.
