Women's Volleyball Advances to Skyline Conference Finals

Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. - A little more than a week ago, the Women's Volleyball team traveled to Farmingdale State College (FSC) and lost. Last night was a different story. After losing the first set, the Dolphins stormed back to take the second and third sets. After falling in the fourth, the Dolphins prevailed, winning the fifth set 15-7.

FSC sophomore setter Julia Hande recorded three straight kills to put Farmingdale State ahead, 4-1. However, Mount Saint Vincent quickly countered with six straight points as they took a three-point advantage, 7-4.

After Hande cut the Rams' deficit to two points, 7-5 on the next serve, the Dolphins recorded the game's next three points, taking a commanding 10-5 lead.

Once CMSV senior setter Nicole Henderson made the game-winning kill, Mount Saint Vincent captured the fifth set 15-7 and the match, 3-2.

The Dolphins were led to victory by Henderson's 48 assists and 11 digs and by sophomore outside Tara Maloney's 30 digs and 18 kills.

Mount Saint Vincent has advanced to the Skyline Conference Championships Finals and will travel to #2 seed U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Saturday, November 4, 2017.
