Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent captured their second Skyline Conference victory this week, as they shut out St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) in a tough, physical matchup on Saturday.
Like the Dolphins did on Wednesday, they gained an early lead. And like it was against Purchase,
Julia McGowan was the driving force behind it all. After the offense did a strong job in putting pressure on the Bears, the senior forward scored in the 28
th minute with help from senior midfielder
Erin Dailey.
The one-goal lead remained through the second half.
But when the Bears were called for a handball, McGowan stepped up once more. As the Dolphins were rewarded a penalty kick, the senior put it past opposing goaltender Lauren Quesada, good for her team-high seventh goal of the season.
The Dolphins' game wasn't all offense, however, as keeper
Elizabeth Martin and a stout defensive unit helped shut out the Bears.
With the victory, CMSV now sits at 5-7 with a conference record of 4-2.
