SCHENECTADY, NY - The CMSV Women's Volleyball team wrapped up play the Union College Tournament on Saturday, against Fredonia and SUNY Potsdam. The Dolphins were swept by both teams, ending the weekend 0-4 and falling to 2-7 on the young 2016 season.
In the Mount's first match of the day against Fredonia, the team lost 25-19, 25-16, 25-13 and only managed only 15 total kills and hit a season low -.013% on attacks.
Tara Maloney once again led the team in kills with seven, while
Patsy Sewell had a game-high two service aces, while sister
Chrissy Sewell had a game-high 17 digs.
In the final match of the day and tournament, the Dolphins were once again swept, this time by SUNY Potsdam by the scores 25-14, 25-23, 25-15.
The Mount rebounded from their earlier game to play a better team game. After dropping the first set, the team rebounded in the second set taking their first lead at 6-5. The team continued to hold a lead late into the set and seem prized to take the set after a few attack errors by the Bears, but some passing and ball handling errors led to downfall of the Dolphins.
P. Sewell led the team in kills for the match totaling 12 kills, while Maloney added 10.
Nicole Henderson led the team with 25 assists.
