RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Lacrosse team closed out the 2016 campaign on Saturday afternoon, falling 18-5 to SUNY Old Westbury in a Skyline Conference matchup. The loss put the Dolphins at 0-13 overall and 0-7 in conference play for the 2016 season.
The Panthers scored the first three goals of the game in less than four minutes of play but CMSV broke through at 25:19 when
Molly Francis scored her first career goal to make the score 3-1. Just over two minutes later
Alicia Forgione scored her team leading 14th goal of the season to make the score 4-2.
The Panthers put the game out of reach scoring 14 of the next 15 goals over the first and second halves to take an 18-3 lead with 7:35 remaining in the game.
Cynthia O'Boyle put in two goals in the final four minutes of the game, adding to her first half goal giving her, her third hat trick of the season.
Defensively, Forgione,
Courtney Latorre and
Erin Maloney each scooped up two ground balls each, while
Kaitlin McGeown made 12 saves in goal.
