RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Men's Lacrosse team returned to action Saturday afternoon, hosting Kean University in a Skyline Conference matchup. The Cougars downed the Dolphins 16-5 on CMSV Senior Day, dropping the teams record to 1-12 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
The Dolphins opened up the scoring less than four minutes into the game when senior
Josh James, scored one of his two goals on the day to put his team up 1-0. The Cougars scored the next four goals, two each by Anthony Carpenter and Sean Conway to take a 4-1 lead with just over three minutes left in the first period.
Michael Puchalski got one back for the Dolphins with 2:50 left in the opening period to cut the lead to two but Kean would add two more goals of their own as they took a 6-2 lead into the second period.
Kean would score the first four goals to open the second period to take a commanding 10-2 lead, however the Dolphins would score the final two goals of the half, one each by
Germain Ngaba and
Mike McEnaney to make the score 10-4 at halftime.
The Dolphins would only manage to get one goal in the final 30 minutes of play, another unassisted goal by James.
CMSV returns to action Tuesday April 26 when they will take on SUNY Maritime at 7pm.
