RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV men's volleyball team hosted St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn and New Jersey City University on Saturday in a Skyline Conference tri-match. The Dolphins started off by sweeping St. Joseph's 3-0 but then finished by losing 3-1 to NJCU. CMSV now stand at 8-12 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
CMSV 3, St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-15)The Dolphins dominated the Bears in all categories, out hitting them .343% to .097%, tallying 37 kills as opposed to just 18 by the visiting Bears.
Tyler Cucullu played well totaling 12 kills, six aces and two blocks, all team-high's, while
Neven Skoblar had 10 kills, three aces and two blocks.
Logan Dickover dished out 28 assists.
NJCU 3, CMSV 1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-19)The Dolphins won a hard fought 1st set after gaining control midway through turning a 12-11 lead into an 18-13 one. Skoblar would tally the set winning kill to put his team up 1-0.
The second and third sets were both won by NJCU who as a team hit .310% with 13 kills in the second set and a blistering .520% with 15 kills in the third.
The final set taken by NJCU saw the Knights smash 18 kills.
Cucullu would add 19 kills and five aces to his line while Dickover added 42 assists.
The Dolphins return to action March 16 when they will take on Lehman in the Battle of the Bronx.
