Second Half Surge Does In Dolphins Against St. Francis Brooklyn

This Marks The 4th Straight Year The Dolphins Have Played DI Opponent

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY - The CMSV Men's Basketball team returned to action on Tuesday night, traveling to Brooklyn to take on Division I opponent St. Francis Brooklyn. The Terriers downed the Dolphins 69-51, dropping CMSV to 1-5 on the season.

This marks the 4th straight season that under head coach Brian Nigro, that the CMSV men's basketball team has played this Division 1 program.

Andrew Curiel notched his third straight double-double tallying a team-high 12 points and team-high 12 rebounds, while playing all 40 minutes. Senior Myron Hickman and junior Matthew Sowah each chipped in with 10 points apiece.

The Dolphins hung with the Terriers throughout the first half, starting out as the more aggressive team and owned the tempo for the first 5+ minutes of the game. They would take an eight point lead on a layup by Jason Barrera with 14:40 left in the half and would continue to lead until the 8:06 mark when Glenn Sanabria hit a 3-pointer to give the home side an 18-16 lead. Despite a field goal drought that would span nearly 13 minutes of action, the Dolphins only trailed by one at halftime.

In the second half the Terriers wore down the Dolphins, as they held them to just 36% shooting from the field, while also forcing them into 0-for-9 shooting from 3-point land. St Francis outscored CMSV 44-27 over the final 20 minutes, thanks in large part to Yunus Hopkinson who scored 17 of his career-high 28 points in the second half.
