NEWBURGH, NY - The CMSV Women's Soccer team continue their quest for a conference championship on Wednesday afternoon as they travel to Newburgh, to take on #2 seed Mount Saint Mary's College. The Dolphins and Knights played once already this year, with MSMC earning a 3-1 victory over CMSV on October 19th.
Last Meeting:
MSMC got on the board first in the 10' on a goal by Nicole Cavallo but less than six minutes later,
Kelly Gibison headed a shot past the Knights keeper to even the score at 1-1. Less than a minute before halftime, the Knights scored again thanks to Bridget McKeever to make it 2-1.
Despite giving up two goals, Dolphins keeper
Elizabeth Martin made five big saves in the first half. CMSV was held goal-less in the second half, getting stopped by MSMC keeper Mary Riley three times.
The Knights final goal came in the 77' on a penalty kick, which was awarded to the Knights when a CMSV foul was committed inside the 18 yard box. It was McKeever who stepped up and scored, netting her second of the game.
CMSV Players to Watch:
Julia McGowan, on average is scoring more than one goal per game and has 21 on the season, ranking 1st in Skyline and 5th in the NCAA. She was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week for the second time last week, due in large part to her second hat trick of the season.
Erin Dailey, scored in the Dolphins 1st round victory over Purchase on a brilliant individual play, where she dribbled past four Panther defenders and beat the keeper.
Nicole Weber, scored the first and eventual game-winner in the Dolphins 1st round win over Purchase. She has been very active as an attacking player on the left side of the Dolphins formation.

The winner of the this game will move on to the Skyline Conference Championship Game which will be played on Saturday at the highest remaining seeds home field.
