Blue Angels Down Dolphins In 4 Sets

Maloney & Sewell Lead CMSV With 9 & 7 Kills Respectively

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The CMSV Women's Volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night against the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels, in a non-conference matchup. CNR got the better of CMSV, as the home side downed the guests in four sets (20-25, 14-25, 25-23, 25-17), the loss drops the Dolphins record to 10-15 on the season.

The Dolphins were unable to get their attack play going, as Skyline kills/set leader Tara Maloney was held to single digit kills for just the 6th time all season, the freshman did add four blocks, two assists and 17 digs. Patsy Sewell added in seven kills, while Nicole Henderson tallied five kills, 17 assists and 12 digs.

After falling behind early in the first set, the Dolphins were able to string a rally together to tie the set at 14-14, but strong serving by the Blue Angels would halt the Dolphins momentum and carry CNR to a 25-20 victory. In the second set, once again, the Dolphins fell behind early and had to play catchup the entire frame. They were unable to get any attack going as they fell in the second set 25-14.

CMSV won a hard fought third set, that went back and forth the entire time. Neither team had a lead larger than one point the entire set, but the Dolphins were able to close out the set serving two aces to secure the win.
