RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Soccer team returned to action Wednesday evening, hosting Skyline Conference foe Mount Saint Mary's College. The Knights downed the Dolphins 3-1 in the "Battle of the Mount" dropping the home side to 9-6-0 overall and 6-2-0 in conference play. 

MSMC opened up the scoring in the 10' on a goal by Nicole Cavallo who accepted a pass from Maeve O'Sullivan inside the 6 yard box and slid it past CMSV keeper Elizabeth Martin to make it 1-0.

Just six minutes later, Kelly Gibision equalized, scoring her ninth goal of the season on a header which beat MSMC keeper Mary Riley on the far post. Gibision was set up by Erin Dailey who notched her second assist of the season.

MSMC kept up the offensive pressure and were rewarded 44 seconds before halftime, when Bridget McKeever sent a looping shot towards the net, which found the back of the net after Martin was unable to punch it away, the goal, McKeever's first of two on the day, put the Knights ahead 2-1.

In the second half, the Knights and Dolphins combined to take 10 shots, but the home side was stopped by MSMC keeper Riley three times.

The visitors third goal came in the 77' on a penalty kick, when McKeever stepped up to the spot and slid the ball past Martin, after a Dolphins foul was committed inside the penalty area.
