THROGGS NECK, NY - The CMSV men's basketball team took on Maritime College on Saturday afternoon in Skyline Conference matchup, with the Dolphins coming away with a 66-61 victory, evening their record at 7-7 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
Sophomore
Jamir Ferebee had his 2nd 29 point performance of the week, tying his career high. The Staten Island native went 8-for-15 from the field and 12-of-12 from the free throw line. Freshman
Trevor Johnson chipped in with 16 points, including 4-of-7 from three point land.
CMSV controlled the game from the start only trailing once when the Privateers scored on their opening possession. They would tie the game up at 17 apiece with 11:25 remaining in the half but the Dolphins would respond and take a nine point lead after a 3-pointer from Johnson with 5:32 to go in the half.
Ferebee would close out the half on a personal 6-0 run give the Dolphins a 13 point lead with just over two minutes remaining the half. CMSV would take 41-30 lead into halftime.
The Dolphins maintained a lead for the entire second half with the Privateers getting to within three points with 5:49 left in the game but back-to-back jumpers by
Jesse Regina and Ferebee quickly put the Dolphins back up by seven points.
CMSV returns to action Tuesday when they will take on Purchase College at 7:30 pm in the Sharp Center.
