Slow 2nd Half Start Dooms Dolphins In 73-64 Loss To Farmingdale St.

Andrew Curiel Leads CMSV With Season-High 14 Points

RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV men's basketball team took on Skyline Conference foe Farmingdale State Thursday night, with the Rams coming away with a 73-64 victory, dropping the Dolphins to 6-7 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

Andrew Curiel scored a season-high 14 points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss. The sophomore was the lone Dolphin to score in double digits. Mike Mulligan had a solid overall game chipping in with nine points, eight rebounds and three assists while Kahlil Shorter added eight points and six rebounds.

The Dolphins held a 31-28 lead going into halftime but a hot start to the 2nd half by the Rams did in CMSV. Over the first 9:15 of the 2nd half, Farmingdale St. went on a 25-8 run going 10-of-14 from the field to take a 53-39 lead.

CMSV started off the 1st half in control of the game jumping out to a 14-4 lead with 14:50 to go. The Rams methodically chipped away at the lead eventually taking a 23-22 lead with 6:59 left before halftime. The Dolphins answered back going up by six with 41 seconds left.

Despite getting down by 14 in the 2nd half, the Dolphins didn't give in, trimming the lead down to five with 5:32 left in the game after a layup by Jamir Ferebee but that would be as close as they would get for the remainder of the game.

The Dolphins return to action Saturday January 9 when they will take on Maritime College at 2pm.
