RIVERDALE, NY - On Wednesday February 4th, CMSV Athletics will host the inaugural 'Athletic Director Honor Roll' Night during the Dolphins double-header against Yeshiva University.
46 student-athletes will be recognized by CMSV Director of Athletics and Recreation
Laura Pruitt prior to the Women's Basketball game which is scheduled to tip-off at 8:00pm.
"This award is to acknowledge our student-athletes who have completed an outstanding stand alone semester," said Pruitt. We have 46 tremendous recipients that have complied GPA's of 3.5 & higher and I couldn't be more proud of them."
The AD Honor Roll will be a biannual event that recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher in each semester.
"I like to tell my coaches 'its not what you teach, its what you emphasize daily that has the greatest impact on your athletes,' and this success is a reflection of their priorities as a coach."
As far as the games go, on the Men's side, the Dolphins look to complete the season sweep of the Maccabees as they head down the homestretch leading to the postseason.
In the Nov. 24 matchup, Skyline Rookie of the Week
Trevor Johnson led the Dolphins to a 68-58 victory. The freshman guard scored 19 points, while teammates
Matthew Sowah and
Jamir Ferebee chipped in with 14 & 13 points respectively.
On the women's side, they will also look to complete the season sweep, as they dropped the Maccabees 67-30 also on Nov. 24.
Freshman
Kristen Merrell had her best game of the season as she poured in a season-high 22 points.
Christina Barone and
Brittany Carroll chipped in with 11 points apiece.
