Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's athletic department announced their Hall of Fame Class of 2021 on social media on Friday afternoon. Monica Lepore '78, Jeri Faulkner '79,
James Mooney '06, Kelly Fraser Zuccaro '15 and Ashleigh Scozzari '16 will be the newest inductees enshrined into the CMSV Athletics Hall of Fame, joining 20 former student-athletes who were recognized for their impressive efforts both on and off the playing field.
Lepore is a true CMSV pioneer; not only did she play on three different teams during her junior and senior seasons at the College but also started the softball team, a program that continues to thrive to this day. Lepore is a published author, Professor Emeritus and member of the National Swimming Hall of Fame.
Faulkner served two roles at the Mount: she spent her playing days as a member of the softball team while returning to the College as a coach for both the men's and women's volleyball team. Faulkner currently serves as the principal for Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx, where she also worked as a teacher, moderator, dean and volleyball coach.
Mooney exited CMSV as one of the greatest men's basketball players in program history, as he holds multiple single season and career records, including being the team's all-time leading scorer. After a professional career overseas, Mooney returned to the United States to begin his coaching career. His path led him right back to the Mount, where he currently serves as head men's basketball coach and associate Athletic Director.
Fraser accumulated a multitude of accolades as a standout performer of the women's volleyball program, both as an individual and with her team. She is one of two players in program history to record over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, was named Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Year and took home the Skyline Conference Championship in her senior season. Fraser currently gives back to the community as a teacher in Arizona.
Scozzari, like Fraser, did it all for the Dolphins, both as an individual athlete and as a member of the women's volleyball team. Noted as one of the most dominant outside hitters throughout her tenure, Scozzari was a four-time All-Conference selection and took home a Skyline Conference Championship in 2015. Scozzari is now helping others in a major way as she's working as a registered nurse.
The 2021 Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on November 13.
