Newburgh, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Basketball team used a 51 point second half to overcome a two point halftime deficit on its way to a 79-68 road Skyline Conference win at Mount Saint Mary on Saturday afternoon. Senior
James Zuccaro (Gilbert, Ariz.) led the Mount with a game-high 28 points.

A three-point field goal from Daniel Wolff just over six minutes into the tilt gave Mount Saint Mary an early 14-4 lead over the Dolphins. The Knights would maintain the advantage until the 7:23 mark of the first half when a Zuccaro layup gave the Dolphins their first lead of the game at 19-18.

Mount Saint Vincent would push its lead to seven points on an
Ammad Alkhulaidi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) jumper that gave the Dolphins a 28-21 lead with 2:14 left in the first half. The Alkhulaidi bucket would be the last score for the Dolphins in the first half, as the Knights closed the period on a 9-0 run to take a 30-28 lead into halftime. A Tyler McDine jumper with two seconds left in the period broke a 28-28 tie for the home standing Knights.

Zuccaro led the Mount with 13 points in the first half as the Mount shot 43.3-percent from the floor. The Knights, who were led by nine points from Gerard Nocera, outscored Mount Saint Vincent 4-0 from the free-throw line in the opening period.

The Knights pushed their lead to six points on a Wolff triple early in the second half and held onto the advantage until an
Antonio Johnson (Fort Johnson, N.Y.) tied the score at 47-47 with 12:15 left in regulation. The triple was part of a 15-2 run by the Mount capped by two Zuccaro free-throws that gave the Dolphins a 54-47 lead with 10:12 left.

The Dolphins pulled in front by double-figures for the first time on a of pair of Johnson free-throws with just over two minutes to play and matched its game-high lead with 14 seconds left on two more free-throws that gave the Mount the final 11 point decision.

Johnson scored 18 points after halftime on Saturday, going 4-for-6 from three-point range and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Zuccaro added 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the floor as the Mount shot 62.5-percent overall and 41.7-percent from bonus distance after halftime.

Zuccaro finished the game 11-for-18 from the floor on Saturday, adding a team-high eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. Johnson rounded out the game with 21 points, hitting five three-point field goals and grabbing five rebounds.

Alkhulaidi rounded out a trio of Dolphins in double-figures, adding six rebounds and three blocked shots.
Andrew Curiel (Bronx, N.Y.) posted nine points and seven rebounds for Mount Saint Vincent off the bench on Saturday.

Mount Saint Vincent finished the game shooting 51.9-percent from the floor and held a 20-10 edge in points off of turnovers.

Saturday's win pushes Mount Saint Vincent 15-6 overall and to 11-3 in league play. The win matches the most for the Dolphins under head coach
