Purchase, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Basketball team suffered its second straight loss on Tuesday evening following an 83-69 defeat on the road at Purchase. Three Dolphins scored in double-figures against the Panthers, led by 12 points from sophomore

The Dolphins got off to a quick start on Tuesday and jumped out to a 10-3 lead following a
Jamir Ferebee (Staten Island, N.Y.) three-point field goal just over four minutes into the contest. The Dolphins would stay in the lead until the 11:20 mark of the opening stanza when a Nicholas Jackson layup moved the Panthers in front 16-15.

Mount Saint Vincent would not lead again before halftime and saw its disadvantage grow to 10 points on a Justin Person conversion that gave Purchase a 28-18 lead with 7:16 left before halftime. The Panthers would take their largest lead of the half when Troy Singleton gave them a 41-26 advantage on a pair of free-throws in the final two minutes.

The Panthers carried a 41-30 lead into the intermission on Tuesday after shooting 50-percent from the floor overall and 42.9-percent from behind the arc. The Dolphins were held to 39.4-percent shooting in the opening period and were led by seven points off the bench from senior
James Zuccaro (Gilbert, Ariz.).

Mount Saint Vincent got off to another quick start after halftime, scoring the first 14 points of the second half to pull in front 44-41 with 16:43 left in regulation. The Dolphins hit four threes over the run, including two triples from
Antonio Johnson (Fort Johnson, N.Y.).

After Purchase tied the score at 48-48 on a Jose Reyes triple, the Panthers took the lead for good in the game on a Person layup with 9:40 left in regulation. With 4:45 left in the game, the Panthers moved in front 64-54 and took their largest lead of the game in the final half minute on another Person conversion that gave them an 83-67 lead.

The Dolphins knocked down five three-pointers in the second half, but converted at just a 33.3-percent rate overall. Purchase shot just shy of 43-percent from the floor and outscored Mount Saint Vincent 26-8 in the paint.

Regina finished the game 4-for-9 from the floor for the Dolphins as he reached double-figures for the second time this season. He was the only Mount Saint Vincent starter in double-figures, adding a pair of assists.

Zuccaro netted 11 points for the Dolphins and led the Mount with 12 rebounds, picking up his team leading fifth double-double of the season. Zuccaro also led the Dolphins with five assists and three steals. Martinez hit a pair of triples on his way to 10 points.

Taylor Foster paced four Purchase players in double-figures with 15 points and handed out a game-high six assists. Person registered 14 points and five assists to go along with a game-high 19 rebounds.

Mount Saint Vincent was held to 36.2-percent shooting from the floor, but converted on all 11 of its free-throw attempts, including a 4-for-4 effort from
Ammad Alkhulaidi (Brooklyn, N.Y.). Purchase shot 46.2-percent for the game and outscored the Mount 44-18 in the paint.

Tuesday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 16-8 overall and to 12-5 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will close out the regular season on Thursday night when they play host to Maritime. Tip-off with the Privateers is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
