Patchogue, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Basketball team had its four game winning streak stopped on Saturday afternoon following a 92-58 road loss at St. Joseph's-L.I. Mount Saint Vincent never led in the game and the Golden Eagles opened the contest up early after scoring the first 15 points of the game. Mount Saint Vincent did not get on the board until a Matthew Sowah (Staten Island, N.Y.) jumper went down at the 13:57 mark of the first half.

The Dolphins would battle back to get their deficit down to five points twice in the last 8:24 of the first half, but St. Joseph's closed out the period on a 22-9 run to take a 43-25 lead into halftime. Joseph Savaglio closed out the run for the Golden Eagles with a three-pointer at the horn.

The Golden Eagles, led by 14 first half points from Sean McCarthy, hauled in nine offensive rebounds in the first 20 minutes, leading to an 11-3 edge in second chance points.

The 18 point deficit at halftime would prove to be the closest Mount Saint Vincent would get the rest of game after St. Joseph's scored the first 10 points of the second period to open a 53-25 lead following a Savaglio conversion with 17:30 left in regulation time.

St. Joseph's would spread its lead to 61-31 on a Billy Heenan three-pointer with 13:52 left in the second half and took a game-high 47 point advantage on a Dan Brzozka three-point field goal with just over seven minutes remaining in the game.

Martinez, who reached double-figures for the first time in his career, did all of his scoring after halftime, going 3-for-4 from the floor and 5-for-6 from the free-throw line. Jesse Regina (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Mike Mulligan (Pearl River, N.Y.) each scored eight points, with Mulligan leading the team with six rebounds. Regina and Antonio Johnson (Fort Johnson, N.Y.) each handed out three assists for the Mount.
