RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Basketball team hosted Skyline Conference foe, Mount Saint Mary's College on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Knights by a score of 57-48. The loss drops the Dolphins record to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
The Dolphins struggled to find their range from the field, shooting 30% for the game, including only making 3-of-17 from three point land (17%). The Knights height and aggressiveness on the offensive glass also doomed CMSV, as they were out rebounded 64-32, including 25-9 on the offensive glass.
Kelly Nola led the Dolphins, scoring 10 points, while
Nicole Oliver chipped in with nine points.
The Dolphins would take the lead on a
Theresa Carey less than a minute into the 2nd quarter and the teams would go back and forth the remainder of the quarter with the Knights pulling ahead by three in the final seconds of the quarter, to take a 25-23 lead into halftime.
CMSV trailed the entire third quarter but would eventually claw back to take a one point lead on a
Morgan Dewberry jumper with 8:23 left in the game. That would be the last Dolphins field goal for over seven minutes as the, thanks to a 13-0 run by the Knights to finish off the Dolphins.
The Dolphins return to action Tuesday December 8, when they will travel to Sage, to take on the Sage Gators at 6pm.
