RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Volleyball team will take on Springfield College in the quarterfinal round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament, Friday November 13 at 12:30pm. The regional round will be played on the campus of Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY.
The Dolphins earned the program's first automatic bid in school history, by defeating St. Joseph's College-Long Island in the semifinals and #3 seed Mt. St. Mary's College in the finals on Saturday night.
This season the team re-wrote the record book, breaking multiple single match records and single season records as well as players climbing in the ranks of career records. To start, the Dolphins enter the tournement on a 12 match winning streak, the longest in the history of the Women's Volleyball program.
Senior
Ashleigh Scozzari, was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year and Tournament MOP, the first student-athlete to ever win these awards, she also set new single season records for kills (500), total attacks (1,051), points (557) and put up the fourth-most total blocks in a single season (87). Scozzari also set a single match record recording 28 kills in two different matches against Rutgers-Newark & Montclair St.
Sophomore
Nicole Henderson, was named Second-Team All-Conference for the second consecutive year, while setting a new single season record in assists (927) and single match record in assists with her 52 assist performance against Montclair St.
Junior
Maria Leineweber totaled 284 kills this season so far, placing her third, on the single season record list, she also totaled the second most total attacks (879) in a single season and her 352 points this season place her third on the all-time single season list. Senior
Zana Daluz closed out her final season as a Dolphin with 222 kills, placing her eighth on the all-time single season list
