Box Score BRONXVILLE, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team swept Sarah Lawrence College in women's volleyball 3-0, in Skyline action at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Friday night. The contest was the Skyline opener for CMSV (5-8 overall, 1-0 Skyline) while the Gryphons have lost two straight Skyline tilts.
Senior
Ashleigh Scozzari (New Rochelle, NY) led all players with 13 kills, and setter freshmen
Patsy Sewell (Yorba Linda, CA) had 20 assists. Junior
Maria Leineweber (Waimanalo, HI) finished with eight service aces, and Scozzari led the Dolphin defense with six digs. CMSV out-hit Sarah Lawrence (1-13 overall, 0-2 Skyline) by a margin of 33 kills to six.
CMSV took early control of the match, and despite one attack error, racked up a 23-1 advantage. Back-to-back attack errors handed the Gryphons two of the last four points of a 25-3 set, the largest margin of win on the season for the Dolphins. CMSV took set two 25-10 and the finale by a 25-8 margin. In the final, the Dolphins ended how they started with a huge rally. Winning narrowly 8-7, the Dolphins rounded out the match and game on a 17-1 rally.
CMSV is back in action tomorrow as they travel for another Skyline match against St. Joseph's College - LI. First serve is set for 10am.
