Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team picked up a convincing 4-1 win over Lehman on Sunday afternoon in its 2014 season opener and first game on its new on campus facility. Three of the Mount's four goals were scored by newcomers, including two tallies from freshman
Alicia Forgione (Lawrenceville, N.J.).

Mount Saint Vincent got on the board first in the 22
nd minute on Sunday when
Erin Dailey (East Windsor, N.J.) potted her first career goal at the 21:49 mark of the contest. She roofed a cross off a corner kick from
Nicole Weber (Flushing, N.Y.) to give the Mount the early 1-0 advantage.

The Dolphins would extend their lead to two goals just under 10 minutes later when Forgione converted a passing play from
Julia McGowan (Pearl River, N.Y.) and
Megan DeRosa (Cornwall, N.Y.) at 31:26. All three newcomers on the play recorded their first career points.

Just under five minutes later Forgione would tally for the second time in the game to send Mount Saint Vincent into the halftime intermission with a commanding 3-0 advantage. She buried a shot from 25 yards out inside the right post for the women's soccer program's first multi-goal performance on the Athletic Field at Marillac.

The Dolphins commanded play in the opening 45 minutes, outshooting Lehman 23-1 and converting three times. The Mount also took three corner kicks in the opening stanza on Sunday.

The Lightning would get on the board for the only time in the game and cut its deficit to 3-1 in the 59
th minute. After a Mount Saint Vincent foul, Samantha Dias placed a free kick inside the far post for the team's lone tally of the afternoon.

The scoring in the tilt would be closed out in the 67
th minute, when sophomore
Erica Lencsak (Hazlet, N.J.) tallied for the team's final goal of the game. Weber picked up her second assist of the game on the scoring play as Lencsak picked up the second goal of her career.

Mount Saint Vincent used three goalkeepers in the contest with
Laura Schools (East Northport, N.Y.) getting the start and earning the win in 56:31 of action.
Sophia Cunningham (Flushing, N.Y.) and
Kerilyn O'Keeffe (Bronx, N.Y.) also saw their first action of the season in the contest. Despite suffering the loss, Lehman keeper Stephanie Gonzalez played a strong game and made 23 stops in the contest.

Overall in the game, Mount Saint Vincent outshot Lehman 44-2, including 27-1 in shots on goal. The Dolphins took all eight corner kicks in the match and fouls were whistled 12-5 against the Mount.

At 1-0 overall on the season, Mount Saint Vincent will return to play on September 4 when it travels to York (N.Y.). Kick-off with the Cardinals is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Brooklyn's Aviator Field.Â
