Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team will open the 2014 season at its new home on Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Lehman to the Athletic Field at Marillac. Mount Saint Vincent will look to build on a successful 2013 season that saw it qualify for the Skyline Conference Tournament and postseason play with and ECAC Tournament berth for the first time in program history. The Dolphins registered single season records in wins (11), goals (58), assists (31), points (147) and team goals against average (1.55).
Although the Dolphins lost their top six scorers from 2013, they return a talented core and an impressive group of newcomers that will look to fill the void. Seniors
Shannon Doyle (Central Islip, N.Y.),
Sophia Cunningham (Flushing, N.Y.) and
Samantha Fioravanti (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) return for their fourth season, with Doyle standing as the top returning scoring after posting eight points a season ago.
Sophomore
Erica Lencsak (Hazlet, N.J.) returns to anchor the backline and was made a Second Team All-Conference selection after a strong freshman season for the Dolphins. She finished with three points on a goal and an assist from the defensive position last season.
