Box Score
Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team picked up its 11th win in 12 home dates on Thursday with a 76-56 non-conference win over the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) posted 15 points in the win and Brittany Lee (Newton, N.J.) added 12 for the Dolphins.

After the Mariners took their only lead of the game on a Julie Mall jumper with 15:41 left in the first half, Mount Saint Vincent used an 18-4 run to take the lead for good on the night. The Dolphins' run spanned just under eight minutes and saw them go 8-for-16 from the floor. The Mount Saint Vincent defense forced six turnovers over the stretch and held USMMA to 2-for-10 shooting.

The Mount's lead would stay in double-figures the remainder of the half and jumped to a half-high 19 points when Fraser canned a three-pointer at the horn heading into halftime. The triple capped a 13-4 run over the final six minutes of the period to send the Dolphins into the break leading 40-21. Fraser led five different scorers over the run with five points.

The Dolphins finished the first period shooting 41-percent from the field and held the visitors to a 33.3-percent conversion rate. The Mount dominated paint points in the half at 22-8 and outscored the Mariners 19-2 on points off of turnovers and 12-0 on the fast break.

Lee pushed Mount Saint Vincent's lead to 43-23 on a three-pointer 50 seconds into the second half and Theresa Carey (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) gave the Dolphins their largest lead of the night, at 46-35, on a triple of her own at the 18:29 mark of the period.

Carey's three-pointer would be the last point scored by the Dolphins for nearly six-and-a-half minutes as USMMA climbed back into the game with nine straight points to get its deficit down to 46-34 on a Rebecca Resor conversion with 15:11 left to play. The Mariners went 4-for-8 from the floor over the run and got five points from Demi VanDerWal.
The scoring drought for Mount Saint Vincent would end on a Desiree Rosa (Dumont, N.J.) three-pointer with just over 12 minutes left to play to spread the Dolphins' lead 49-34.
