Farmingdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team closed out the regular season on Sunday with a 69-58 loss on the road at Farmingdale State. The Dolphins, who will be the fourth seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference Tournament, were led by 16 points from freshman
Brittany Lee (Newton, N.J.).

Mount Saint Vincent took its largest lead of the game 48 seconds into the contest when Lee hit a three-pointer to open the scoring in the game. The only lead change of the game came at the 17:22 mark when Jeanette Spillane converted a layup to give the Rams a 4-3 advantage.

The game would be tied three ties after the Rams took the lead, before Farmingdale State used an 11-2 run to jump in front 21-12. Andrea Desvignes capped the run at the 8:38 mark of the half with a layup on the fast break.

The Dolphins would whittle the Ram lead down to a single point with 1:37 left in the first half on a pair of
Theresa Carey (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) free-throws. The free-throws finished off a 13-5 spurt for the Dolphins before Farmingdale State closed the half with four of the final six points to carry a 30-27 lead into the intermission.

Mount Saint Vincent held Farmingdale State to 27.8-percent shooting in the first period and 0-for-8 from three-point distance, but the Rams outscored the Dolphins 10-4 from the free-throw line. Lee scored half of her 16 points before halftime, while Nicky Young and Desvignes led all scorers for the Rams with nine points apiece.

Farmingdale State would lead throughout the second half and quickly got out to a 37-27 lead on a Young free-throw with 15:57 left to play. The Dolphins would climb back to within six points twice in the half before Farmingdale State took control of the game with a 23-10 run. Amanda Mason converted a three-point play with 3:36 left to give the Rams a 64-45 lead.
Mount Saint Vincent would not be able to get its disadvantage under double-figures the rest of the day and got it down to the final 11 point decision on a
Daniela Arias (Woodside, N.Y.) with nine seconds left in regulation.

The Mount Saint Vincent defense held Farmingdale State to under 30-percent shooting in the game, but the Rams outscored the Dolphins 30-12 at the free-throw line and scored 35 points in the paint. Camille Romeo led Farmingdale State with 22 points on the strength of a 12-forf-12 effort from the free-throw line.

Lee closed the game 6-for-14 from the floor and added 12 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season.
Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) picked up her team leading 19
th double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 boards.
Andrea Sinaly (Middle Village, N.Y.) added nine rebounds and
Christina Barone (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the team with five assists.

Mount Saint Vincent closed the game 21-for-72 from the floor and went 4-for-21 from three-point distance. The Dolphins surrendered 17 points on the fast break and Farmingdale State tallied 20 points off of Mount Saint Vincent turnovers.

Mount Saint Vincent closes the regular season with a 17-8 overall record and a 9-5 mark in league play. The Dolphins and Rams will hook up again on Thursday night in the semifinal round of the league tournament. The fourth seeded Dolphins and top seeded Rams will tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
