New York, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team saw its three match winning streak stopped on Tuesday night with a tough 16-25, 25-16, 17-25, 25-22, 13-15 road loss at the City College of New York. Junior
Ashleigh Scozzari (New Rochelle, N.Y.) posted her third double-double of the season, including a team-high 14 kills.

After hitting -.107 in the opening set on Tuesday, the Dolphins evened the match at 1-1 after taking advantage of 11 CCNY attack errors in the second set. The Mount used a four point run late in the second frame, all on CCNY miscues, to open a 21-15 lead.
Nicole Henderson (Bergenfield, N.J.) put away a kill to close out the set for the Mount.

The Dolphins went on to commit 13 attack errors in the third set, falling behind by a set for the second time on the night. The Beavers used a 7-0 run early in the stanza to take a 10-2 lead that they would not relinquish. Saye-Chantl Joseph sparked the seven point spurt for CCNY with three kills.

Mount Saint Vincent battled back for a second time to even the match at two sets apiece with 11 kills and just one error in the fourth. The Dolphins used an eight point run keyed by two Scozzari kills and two
Zana Daluz (Pawtucket, R.I.) service aces to open a 14-6 advantage. The Dolphins would see CCNY climb back to within 21-19, but the Mount got three Scozzari kills down the stretch to close out the set.

The Dolphins would rally from a 9-3 deficit in the fifth to pull in front 10-9 on a Henderson winner. A CCNY attack error would move the Dolphins in front 13-12, but an attack error from the Mount and two service aces from Leticia Marotti sealed the win for the Beavers.

Scozzari reached double-figures in kills for the seventh time this season with her 14 and matched the team-high on the night with 14 digs. She hit .163 on the night and added a pair of total blocks. Classmate
Jennifer Roman (Queens Village, N.Y.) also lifted 14 digs for the Mount and added three service aces.

Sophomore
Maria Leineweber (Waimanalo, Hawaii) rounded out the night with nine kills and four blocks, while Daluz chipped in with five kills, three digs, two aces and four total blocks. Henderson matched her career-high with 26 assists and also posted nine digs and three aces.

Marotti closed the night for CCNY with a match-high 19 kills to go along with 19 digs and six service aces. Joseph added 14 kills to the winning effort and 13 digs, while Kathlen Dos Santos handed out a match-high 32 assists.

For the match, CCNY held a 46-36 advantage in kills and an 11-9 edge in service aces. Mount Saint Vincent finished the night with a 9-4 edge in total team blocks.

Tuesday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 6-10 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Purchase to take on the Panthers and Farmingdale State. Matches are set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
