Riverdale, N.Y. - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team finished off the regular season schedule on Monday afternoon with a 5-0 conference victory over Sarah Lawrence. Freshman
Erin Dailey (East Windsor, N.J.) and
Kelly Gibison (Waterford Works, N.J.) each finished with three points for the Dolphins.
Mount Saint Vincent would grab a 2-0 lead on Monday in the back end of the first half with goals from Gibison and Dailey. The eventual game winning goal came from Gibison at 27:32 when she headed in a pass from
Caroline Criscuola (North Merrick, N.Y.). Dailey struck just over three minutes later with her fifth goal of the season off an assist from Gibison at 30:59.
Mount Saint Vincent carried the play from the start on Monday, holding a 13-0 advantage in shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes.
Early in the second half,
Erica Lencsak (Hazlet, N.J.) got the Dolphins back on the board with her second goal of the season at 56:04. She converted a pass from Dailey off a corner kick for a 3-0 lead.
Mount Saint Vincent would add two more goals in the final 15 minutes with
Samantha Fioravanti (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) scoring her first goal of the season in the 76
th minute and
Laura Schools (East Northport, N.Y.) netting her second of the season in the 81
st minute.
Shannon Doyle (Central Islip, N.Y.) assisted on the Fioravanti goal and Criscuola picked up her second helper of the day on the Schools tally.
Freshman
Kerilyn O'Keeffe (Bronx, N.Y.) picked up her second win of the season after playing the first 45 minutes of the game without being forced to make a stop.
Sophia Cunningham (Flushing, N.Y.) came on to play the second half and made two saves. Addie Rosenberg finished with 12 saves for the Gryphons in the contest.
Mount Saint Vincent finished the game with a 22-2 edge in shots and a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Dolphins had seven players finish with at least one point in the game, led by three each from Dailey and Gibison.
Monday's victory improves Mount Saint Vincent to 13-4 overall and to 5-3 in league play. Next up for the Dolphins is the opening round of the Skyline Conference Tournament with matchup and game time to be announced.
