Farmingdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent had its losing streak extended on Thursday night with a 78-57 loss on the road at league rival Farmingdale State. The Dolphins had two players score in double-figures in the game, led by a career-high 12 points from freshman
Jesse Regina (Staten Island, N.Y.).

The Rams got off to a fast start on Thursday and scored the first eight points of the contest over the first 4:42 of play.
Gerard Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) got the Mount on the board at the 14:26 mark and started a 13-4 run to push the Dolphins in front 13-12 with 9:21 left in the first half on a Christian Giles (East Elmhurst, N.Y.) free-throw.

The Rams got the lead right back on a Wilson Molina jumper at the 8:15 mark. The Dolphins would go nearly three minutes without scoring before a Giles conversion at 6:46 would bring the Dolphins to within 16-15.

Farmingdale State would close the half on a 20-6 run to carry a 36-21 lead into the break. The Mount would be held to just two field goals after the Giles bucket, a jumper by
Brandon Serrano (Hempstead, N.Y.) with 4:17 to play in the half and a three-pointer from Regina with 37 ticks left before the half.

Mount Saint Vincent was held to 8-for-27 shooting in the first half, while Farmingdale State shot 44.1-percent in the opening 20 minutes.
Antonio Johnson (Fort Johnson, N.Y.) led the Mount with five points at the break, while Jonathan Annan led all scorers with 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting, including three triples.

The Dolphins would whittle their deficit down to seven points in the opening 4:30 of the second half with a 12-4 spurt keyed by a pair of Regina triples. After a free-throw from Terrence Henderson,
Kevin Henry (Yonkers, N.Y.) got the Mount to within six points, at 41-35, with a lay-in with 13:59 to play in regulation time.

Following the Henry bucket, the Dolphins would net just four points over the next 4:48. Khalil Shorter (Staten Island, N.Y.) converted the lone field goal for the Mount over that stretch as the Rams outscored it 11-4.

A Dante Gray (Monroe, N.Y.) three-pointer for the Dolphins brought them to within nine points, at 61-52, with just over nine minutes to play in the game, but Farmingdale State closed out the game on a 17-5 run to extend the Mount Saint Vincent losing streak to 11 games.

The Dolphins shot just 30.3-percent from the floor overall in the game and allowed the Rams to shoot just shy of 48-percent for the game. The Dolphins went 7-for-17 from three-point range in the game, but misfired on 11 free-throw attempts.

Mount Saint Vincent's top two scorers in the game came off the bench, with Regina going 4-for-5 from three-point range to reach double-figures for the first time in his career. He added four assists and three steals for the Dolphins.

Anthony Woods (West Palm Beach, Fla.) closed the game with 10 points and added eight rebounds and a pair of steals. Henry posted a career-high 11 rebounds for the Dolphins and Serrano secured eight boards for the Mount.

The Rams were paced by Molina who led five players in double-figures with 17 points. Annan added 14 points and a game-high seven assists, while Donald Lawes secured 10 rebounds. Â

Thursday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 1-11 overall on the season and to 0-6 against Skyline Conference opponents. Next up for the Dolphins is a trip to Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
