Patchogue, N.Y. – Three College of Mount Saint Vincent players scored in double-figures, including 15 points each from Christina Barone (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Brittany Lee (Newton, N.J.) as the Dolphins picked up their fourth straight win with a 73-61 road win at St. Joseph's-L.I. on Monday night.
 
The Mount never trailed in Monday's contest and ran out to a 6-0 lead on three-point field goals from Brittany Carroll (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Lee in the first minute of the game. Lee would get the Mount in front by a 12-3 margin at the 16:10 mark of the half with her second conversion of the game.
 
Barone pushed the Dolphins in front by double-figures for the first time of the night, at 20-10, with a pair of free-throws just over nine minutes into the tilt as part of a 9-2 spurt that saw Mount Saint Vincent move in front 22-10.
 
St. Joseph's would rally with a 12-3 run over four minutes late in the first half to slice a once 11 point Mount Saint Vincent lead to 33-31 with 2:10 remaining before the half. The Golden Eagles had five different players score over the run, including a three-pointer from Jackie Zizzo to cap the spurt.
 
Mount Saint Vincent answered the Golden Eagle run with the final six points of the half to carry a 39-31 lead into the intermission. Lee and Nicole Oliver (Caramel, N.Y.) canned jumpers over the final minute of the half and Barone converted two free-throws with no time on the clock to build the halftime advantage.
 
The Mount finished the first 20 minutes shooting 38.2-percent from the field and finished 11-for-15 from the free-throw line. Barone paced the Dolphins through the first half with 13 points with a 3-for-4 showing from the field and a 7-for-9 effort from the charity stripe. Danielle Hamlin led the way for the Golden Eagles with 15 points and six rebounds.
 
Coming out of halftime, Mount Saint Vincent scored the first seven points of the period to move in front 46-31. Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) started the scoring in the second period for the Dolphins, who also got a triple from Theresa Carey (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) and a bucket from Lee in the 7-0 spurt over the first 1:09 of the half.
 
The Golden Eagles answered again with a 10-0 run to get their disadvantage down to 46-41 with 14:57 remaining in regulation time. Mount Saint Vincent got its advantage right back to 15 points with a 10-0 run of its own. Lee led the charge for the Dolphins with a three-pointer and a three-point play to build the advantage back to 56-41 with 12:23 left to play.
 
Following the 10-0 spurt, the Dolphins' lead would not fall below 11 points the rest of the way and grew to a game-high 17 points on an Andrea Sinaly (Middle Village, N.Y.) jumper with 9:46 showing on the clock.
 
Mount Saint Vincent finished the game shooting 40.3-percent overall and went 14-for-18 from the free-throw line. The Dolphins' defense held St. Joseph's to a 32.8-percent conversion rate overall, but allowed the Golden Eagles to knock in eight three-pointers and shoot an even 40-percent from bonus distance.
 
Barone scored two points after halftime to finish with 15 points to go along with seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Lee went 6-for-13 from floor, including two threes, on her way to 15 points and four rebounds.
 
Fraser finished with her fourth straight double-double for the Dolphins after registering 14 points on 7-for-19 shooting and a team-high 13 rebounds. She also blocked four shots and handed out three assists. Carroll added eight points and a steal for the Mount in the win.
 
St. Joseph's got game-highs in scoring and rebounding from Hamlin who finished with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Laura Cohen added 11 points for the Golden Eagles and Katie McGarrell hauled in nine rebounds.
 
Monday's win improves Mount Saint Vincent's overall record to 10-3 and its league mark to 4-1. The Dolphins will be back on the floor again on Thursday when they open a four game home stand against Berkeley. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
