Lancaster, Pa. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team suffered three losses on Sunday at the Franklin and Marshall Scramble. The Dolphins fell to the host Diplomats by scores of 14-25, 12-25 and 17-25 before being downed by Susquehanna by scores of 8-25, 24-26 and 11-25 and Cabrini by scores of 10-25, 8-25 and 22-25. Zana Daluz (Pawtucket, R.I.) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
In the opener on Sunday against Franklin and Marshall, freshman
Maria Leineweber (Waimanalo, Hawaii) paced the Dolphins with four kills to go along with four digs.
Allison Regan (Carmel, N.Y.) added three kills and a pair of digs, while
Erika Moncada (Yonkers, N.Y.) led the team with six digs.
Daluz rounded out the first match of the day with three kills and a pair of service aces to go along with a team-high nine assists. Daluz also lifted four digs in the match against Franklin and Marshall.
The Diplomats were paced by 10 kills from Emily Gerard who hit .600 in the match. Ellie Ezekiel and Julie Harvey each put away nine kills for the hosts who hit .397 as a team in the match. Meghan Hubert handed out a team-high 12 assists and Alyssa Sanchez and Kelsey Morgan posted four service aces.
Leineweber was again the team leader in kills against Susquehanna on Sunday after putting down six kills. The freshman also led the Mount with three total blocks and matched the team-high with a pair of aces.
Regan closed out a solid match with five winners and an ace, while
Brianna Walker (Pomona, N.Y.) rounded out the contest with four winners for the Dolphins.
Daluz closed out the middle match of the day with a pair of kills, two digs and a block assist. She handed out 14 assists in the contest to lead the team.
Nichole Riehm (Irvington, N.Y.) matched the team-high with two aces and added four digs.
Susquehanna got 13 kills and a .320 hitting percentage from Jessica Holm in the contest and six winners and a .545 hitting percentage from Hayley Dunkel. Overall the team hit .363 and committed just nine attack errors.
Nickey Sanders handed out a match-high 15 assists and Rachel Wherry totaled three blocks. Sarah Paluck led all players with 11 digs.
In the final match of the afternoon on Sunday, Leineweber paced the squad with three kills against Cabrini to go along with two more aces and five total blocks.
Rachel Gabriel (Yonkers, N.Y.) added a pair of kills and an ace.
Colleen Kallop (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Dolphins with eight assists in the match and added a pair of block assists, while Daluz picked up a kill, an ace and a block assist.
Cabrini received six kills each from Kristy Riley and Jen Grenauer and a match-high 28 assists from Cassidy Koenig. Riley also led the way with five digs and three aces in the match.
With Sunday's results, Mount Saint Vincent stands at 0-8 on the season. The Dolphins will open the home schedule on Thursday night when they welcome New Rochelle. Match time at the Peter Jay Sharp Center is set for 7:00 p.m.
