Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team finished off the regular season on Sunday morning with a pair of league victories. The Dolphins took down Mount Saint Mary in five sets by scores of 25-18, 14-25, 25-18, 15-25 and 15-10 before knocking off Yeshiva 25-21, 25-11 and 25-16. Freshman
Maria Leineweber (Waimanalo, Hawaii) had a big day for the Dolphins after totaling 29 kills.

In Sunday's opener, the Dolphins and Knights went back-and-forth until the Mount used a three point spurt late in the fifth set to break a 9-9 tie. Mount Saint Mary would get back to within 12-10 in the deciding stanza but kills from Leineweber and
Colleen Kallop (Bronx, N.Y.) finished off a 3-0 run to end the set.

Leineweber hit .349 for the Dolphins in the win, collecting 17 kills to go along with three digs and a pair of total blocks.
Zana Daluz (Pawtucket, R.I.) had also had a big match with 22 assists, 17 digs and six kills for Mount Saint Vincent.

Alberita Rugova (New York, N.Y.) and
Jennifer Roman (Queens Village, N.Y.) each recorded a team-high 19 digs in the contest, while
Erika Moncada (Yonkers,, N.Y.) lifted 13 and posted five kills. She joined Daluz with a pair of service aces for the Dolphins.

Mount Saint Mary received 11 kills each from Kayla Kurka and Rachel Sabatini, while Clair Scully handed out a match-high 37 assists. Jen Gries paced the Knights with 17 digs.

Overall, Mount Saint Mary finished the match with a 50-37 advantage in kills and a 9-7 edge in service aces. Mount Saint Vincent took the blocking battle with a team total of seven in the win. The victory for the Dolphins snaps a 10 match losing streak to the Knights.

Mount Saint Vincent rounded out play in the regular season with a win over Yeshiva that featured just six ties and one lead change. Leineweber was the only player in double-figures in kills in the match with 12, hitting .296 for the Mount. She closed out an impressive day with six digs, an ace and a total block.

Daluz handed out 21 more assists in the contest for Mount Saint Vincent and added eight digs and a match-high four service aces.
Brianna Walker (Pomona, N.Y.) and
Cristina Buchanan (Bronx, N.Y.) contributed four kills each to the winning effort, with Walker finishing with three total blocks.

The Dolphins received a team-high nine digs from Roman who also finished with a pair of aces. Kallop closed the win with three winners and four digs for the Mount.

Mount Saint Vincent finished the sweep with a 28-11 edge in kills, while service aces were even at 9-9. The Dolphins closed the match with a 4-1 advantage in total team blocks.

With its two wins on Sunday, Mount Saint Vincent pushes its overall record to 8-17 and its league mark to 6-3. The six league wins are the most on record and it closes out the first winning record in league play for the Mount since the 2010 season.

The Dolphins will return to play on November 6 when they complete in the Skyline Conference Tournament. Opponent and match time will be announced when they become available.Â
