Dolphins Slip By Gators In Regular Season Finale

Albany, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team closed out the 2013 regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 road win at Sage. Freshman Mandy D'Amico (Freehold, N.J.) and sophomore Charlotte Barnham (London, England) paced the Mount Saint Vincent attack with three points each on the strength of a goal and an assist.
 
D'Amico opened the scoring in the game in the third minute when she scored for the sixth time this season. She finished off a pass from Barnham just 2:41 into the contest to push the Mount in front by a goal in the early going.
 
Sage rallied to tie the score just under five minutes later when Kelsey Woron tallied her third of the season in the eighth minute to knot things up at 1-1. Her unassisted goal came 7:41 into the tilt to bring the Gators back even.
 
The game remained tied at a goal apiece until the 22nd minute on Saturday when Barnham cashed in the game winning goal off a pass from D'Amico. The goal at 21:18 was Barnham's eighth of the season and her second game winning goal.
 
With her scoring output on Saturday, Barnham sits second on the team in goals with eight and points with 24. She also leads the team in assists with eight. D'Amico is fourth on the team in scoring with six tallies and 15 points.
 
Junior Kelly Hilly (Massapequa, N.Y.) earned the win in goal for Mount Saint Vincent after making four saves. Three of her four stops came in the opening 45 minutes as she moved to 7-7 on the season. Teagan Waddingham made seven saves for Sage.
 
Mount Saint Vincent closed out the game with a 12-6 advantage in shots, including a 7-1 edge after halftime. The Dolphins took all three corner kicks in the game.

With the win, Mount Saint Vincent closes out the regular season at 11-7 overall and at 4-4 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will return to action on November 2 when open play in the Skyline Conference Tournament. Opponent and game time will be announced when seedings are made available.
